The professional phase,

MEP, MEIR and Commercial Pilot Licence, flown twin-engine. Instead of meeting only the minimum multi-engine requirement, you build real twin-engine experience across the professional part of your training.

Once you have passed all 13 ATPL theory exams and completed at least 70 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), you are ready to move into the professional phase of your flight training.

  • MEP - Multi-Engine Piston
  • MEIR - Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
  • CPL - Commercial Pilot Licence
  • 40 hours of actual twin-engine flight time
  • 40 hours of FNPT2 simulator training
Every module figure is indicative. The final written quotation identifies the applicable tax treatment, exactly what the training price includes, and any additional charges such as landing or test fees, medicals and aircraft rental where applicable.

Why the whole phase is flown twin-engine

Completing only the minimum multi-engine requirement leaves a new commercial pilot with very little time on complex aircraft. Flying the professional phase on twins gives you substantially more experience operating them before you move on to airline-oriented multi-crew training.

Before you can start

  • A valid PPL
  • ATPL theory passed or underway
  • EASA medical class 1
  • A minimum of 70 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)

If you are still building towards 70 hours PIC, say so in your enquiry - the hour-building stage exists for exactly that gap, and it is cheaper to plan it than to discover it late.
